Working with regional and statewide partners, 10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania is creating a statewide coalition to address the growing transportation infrastructure and funding crisis across the state.
As a member of Transportation for America, our Pennsylvania coalition has joined like minded groups across the country to make sure that Congress authorizes the next transportation bill in in a timely manner to reflect the kind of transportation and growth we need to improve our economy, our communities, and our future.
Here are some of the ideas T4PA is working for:
- Transportation funding allocations that are more balanced between vehicular transportation and alternative transportation such as public transit and pedestrian and cycling options.
- Project decisions that are linked to land use planning, strategic regional and local objectives for economic development, and environmental factors.
- Pennsylvania regions that allocate local money to provide additional financial support for critical local and regional transportation projects.
- Pennsylvania’s cities and metropolitan regions that are better linked internally and externally by rail and transit.
- Sustainable federal and state spending that is aligned with real community needs.
